How SnowMirror Works?
SnowMirror for Salesforce is an on-premise tool. It is not a cloud service! It allows you to have the data flow under your full control and under your operations.
SnowMirror is running as an agent service in your environment. According to configured replication jobs, it downloads data changes from a Salesforce instance and updates a mirror database. No Salesforce changes are needed, the mirror uses out-of-the-box API available in every instance.
All you need is a server with the agent installed and a mirror database (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, etc.). This database can be used for custom reporting, data warehouse load, system integration, backup and more.
Offload Reporting and Business Intelligence
Create custom reports locally on all sorts of existing reporting platforms and BI tools by connecting to a traditional, local database (e.g., Oracle, MySQL) that contains replicated data from a Salesforce instance. Select tables and columns and schedule regular data replication to refresh data as needed with a full or incremental update.
Leverage the mirror database to connect read-only integrations, thereby eliminating point-to-point real-time interfaces that rely on an Internet connection. Integrate applications with a database in a local network and improve the integration architecture.
Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
Real physical ownership of data in self-owned and controlled local environments that guarantees access to your data even if your internet or could application service provider is not available. Be compliant with potential audit and legal requirements regarding business continuity and disaster recovery.
Backup Salesforce data onto a filesystem in your local environment. Restore the lost data caused by human errors, malicious insiders or errors in automated scripts. Select individual tables, schedule regular backups and configure retention policy as needed.
