SnowMirror Drive is a new app for ServiceNow that enables users to move attachments from ServiceNow storage transparently to their own cloud storage, improving performance and saving costs. SnowMirror Drive users can save significant amounts on ServiceNow storage – depending on how many attachments are in storage, this can be up to 90%. This can help keep your company compliant with its ServiceNow license, so that you don’t get charged extra for storage space.
How does SnowMirror Drive work
The savings and performance improvements SnowMirror Drive brings can be big. Medium-sized ServiceNow customers can typically save up to $100,000 annually on storage costs, and large customers up to $500,000. Storage, especially of large attachments, can become a significant cost if not kept under control.
SnowMirror Drive can also bring performance improvements to ServiceNow. Most medium-to-large ServiceNow customers experience degraded performance and responsivness of their instances because of storage usage. SnowMirror Drive helps by reducing the size of the ServiceNow instance.
SnowMirror Drive is a ServiceNow app, which means there’s no MID server to install and maintain. It works on a cloud-to-cloud basis, so you just point SnowMirror Drive to the storage of your choice (Amazon S3, Azure Storage, Google Cloud Storage, or on-premise), and set the rules by which your attachments should be moved. Examples of this can include attachments that are older than three months, or attachments above a certain size.
SnowMirror Drive is part of a set of solutions focused on individual use cases for working with ServiceNow data. SnowMirror is made by GuideVision, a leading ServiceNow integrator with more than a decade of focus only on ServiceNow. GuideVision is an Infosys company.
