articipate in the SnowMirror Beta Program and be among the first to test the latest features of SnowMirror against the latest ServiceNow releases. We started developing SnowMirror 3 in cooperation with ServiceNow database experts several months ago. The cooperation resulted in a completely revamped replication algorithm together with several new features improving SnowMirror performance and reliability. After intensive alpha testing we’ve release SnowMirror 3.0 Beta for public testing. Every ServiceNow instance is customized in a different way and the environments vary so we’d like to proof the quality in more production environments before we make SnowMirror 3.0 publicly available. Please report all issues at service@www.snow-mirror.com. (more…)
Paul Hicks, one of our SnowMirror clients, published an article in the ServiceNow Community in which he describes all the hurdles you have to deal with when using the original ServiceNow ODBC driver. These exact same hurdles led us to design SnowMirror several years ago.
Here is the author’s conclusion: “The initial solution I used was the ServiceNow ODBC driver. We essentially out-grew this in terms of data volumes and have recently purchased SnowMirror.”

During our Las Vegas stay at Knowledge15 we have collected a number of ideas and feature requests. Some of them were mentioned and voted several times. Our agile development team was able to add the most important features into the next release and today we proudly announce a general availability of SnowMirror 2.7. The highlights are: Display value replication and Mirror DB timezone setup (a.k.a. timestamp conversion). Both of the features will help to make reports on ServiceNow data even easier. (more…)
One of the major SnowMirror benefits is the ability to use it as a part of a disaster recovery plan. From the very first version of SnowMirror it is possible to synchronize data stored in ServiceNow tables. But how about the attached files? Welcome to SnowMirror 2.6. The most important new feature is the ability to synchronize the ServiceNow attachments onto a file system which allows to keep copies of documents stored in ServiceNow on their on-premise machine and use it as a part of a business continuity plan. Welcome to SnowMirror 2.5. The new version supports the ServiceNow Fuji release and a number of new important features. One of them is the support for full loads configuration together with incremental data loads. Another one is the support for incremental view replication. And as always, many other improvements and bug fixes. (more…)
Are you prepared to be surprised by a new product? After a great success of of the original SnowMirror for ServiceNow, we are pleased to announce that we have launched an almost identical product for Salesforce.com – SnowMirror for Salesforce. It replicates the data from a Salesforce instance (i.e. organization) into a traditional on-premise database such as Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server. The fresh and mirrored data located in your environment allows you to perform advanced reporting and analytics, ensure business continuity, simplify integration and more.
Creating database indexes in ServiceNow database used to be a bit more complicated because you had to raise a ticket in the HI instance. However starting with Fuji you can define the database indexes on your own. In this post, I will show you how to create new indexes and find the existing ones, even using an API. SnowMirror is working with existing ServiceNow indexes to be able to warn users if a table to replicate does not contain an index on the sys_updated_on column.
